Magic Johnson Thinks The New York Knicks Need To Make A Trade

Lakers legend Magic Johnson believes the New York Knicks are among several teams that need to make a move.

The New York Knicks have gotten off to an excellent start to the season.

They are 27-17 in their first 44 games, which has them as the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.

In addition, the Knicks are 8-2 over their last ten games and are in the middle of a four-game winning streak.

One of the reasons for their success has been the addition of OG Anunoby, who they acquired in a trade with the Toronto Raptors (last month).

Despite the team's recent dominance, Basketball Hall of Famer Magic Johnson thinks the Knicks are among several teams that need to make a move.

Via Johnson on Tuesday: "Outside of the Boston Celtics, multiple teams in the East need to make a trade before the deadline including the Bucks, 76ers, Knicks, Cavaliers, and the Hawks."

While the Knicks aren't the only team that Johnson mentions, it's still intriguing.

Evan Fournier, who has only appeared in three games this season, has an $18.9 million salary with a team option for next season, so he is a likely trade asset.

The Knicks are coming off a year where they were the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference and reached the second round of the NBA playoffs for the first time since the 2013 season (they lost to the Miami Heat in six games).

They have a talented roster led by Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle and Anunoby.

On Thursday evening, the Knicks will host Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan.
