NBA Champion Believes This Is The Best Team For Memphis Grizzlies' Ja Morant

NBA Champion Kendrick Perkins believes Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant would be a good fit for the Miami Heat.

Ja Morant is among the most talented players in the NBA and has made the All-Star Game in each of the last two seasons.

At 23 years old, the former Murray State star has already led the Memphis Grizzlies to the NBA Playoffs in three consecutive seasons.

That said, he's recently been in the news for the wrong reasons.

The star point guard was seen in a viral social media clip (last month) allegedly holding a gun and has been suspended by the team.

In addition, the NBA is likely to announce his suspension at some point soon

All of this comes after he was suspended eight games for a similar incident during the season.

On Thursday, ESPN's Kendrick Perkins (an NBA Champion) was on First Take and shared a bold statement about what team he thinks would best fit Morant.

Perkins: "I strongly believe that it's time for Ja to have a change of scenery. I really, really do. I know the Memphis Grizzlies fans are gonna get up in an uproar, and I'm not attacking them. I'm just talking about Ja and his well-being and his future, and I think it's time for a change of scenery, and to be honest, we just got through talking about the Miami Heat. I think that's the culture, and that's the organization that he needs to go to."

Morant is coming off a season where he averaged 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, 8.1 assists and 1.1 steals per contest.

He will begin the first year of a five-year, $194 million contract next season.
