Victor Wembanyama Made Unbelievable NBA History In Spurs-Trail Blazers Game

Victor Wembanyama made NBA history during Thursday's game.

On Thursday evening, the San Antonio Spurs defeated the Portland Trail Blazers in Oregon by a score of 118-105.

Right from the start, the Spurs took control of the game and had a 38-14 lead after the first 12 minutes.

Rookie Victor Wembanyama had one of his best games of the season and finished the victory with 30 points, six rebounds, six assists and seven blocks while shooting 9/14 from the field and 2/4 from the three-point range in only 24 minutes of playing time.

His stat line also made NBA history.  

Via NBA History: "Victor Wembanyama also becomes the first player in NBA history to record 30 points and 7 blocks in less than 30 minutes played."

Wembanyama will be one of the candidates to win the 2024 Rookie of The Year Award, as he is averaging 18.8 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.3 steals and 3.2 blocks per contest while shooting 44.0% from the field and 28.5% from the three-point range in 27 games.

The win for the Spurs snapped a five-game losing streak, and they improved to 5-25 in their first 30 games, which has them as the 15th seed in the Western Conference.

They are 2-8 over their last ten games and 3-12 in the 15 games they have played on the road away from San Antonio. 

Following Thursday's game, the Spurs and Trail Blazers will face off again on Friday evening (also in Oregon). 

The Trail Blazers dropped to 8-22 in their first 30 games, which has them as the 14th seed in the Western Conference.
