F1 News: McLaren Are Next Team To Reveal 2023 Car Release Date

McLaren are fifth team to reveal their 2023 car launch date.

McLaren have become the fifth team to announce the launch date for their 2023 car, which will be February 13th.

Sharing the news to social media, McLaren posted a "Save The Date" for their fans.

The Woking-based team will be launching their car on the same date as Aston Martin.

McLaren are moving into 2023 with a new driver line-up of Lando Norris and rookie Oscar Piastri. It was announced during the 2022 season that the team were parting ways with Daniel Ricciardo at the end of the year.

On top of the new driver line-up, Andrea Stella has stepped up to be the new team principal after Andreas Seidl moved over to Sauber following Frederic Vasseur's move to Ferrari. Seidl spoke about the 2023 car to Speedcafe.com before he left the team. He said:

“It had quite a consequence for us as a team for different reasons.

“Obviously, with testing being so limited nowadays, and going into a completely new era of Formula 1, completely new cars, then missing out on half of the testing compared to everyone else around, compared to all other competitors, definitely put us on the back foot quite a lot in terms of preparation for the season.

“Then we had to use a lot of resources as well at a time where we would have liked to use all the resources simply to performance develop the car instead of fixing brake issues was also something that, I think, put us on the back foot even further and, to a certain degree, probably even had an impact on next year’s car because we couldn’t start it as early as we would have liked.”

The other launch dates we are aware of at the moment are AlphaTauri on 11th February, Ferrari on 14th February, and Alpine on 16th February.
