Betony Secures Turquoise Circuit Finals Bareback Title

When the dust settled in Camp Verde, Arizona, one man stood out above all, Evan Betony. Betony won all three go-rounds this past weekend, all while making it look easy.
The Turquoise Circuit Finals took place in Camp Verde, Arizona and is limited to the top-15 athletes of each event that claim the Turquoise Circuit as their home circuit. This circuit includes the states of New Mexico and Arizona.
The cowboys in the bareback event had a great opportunity to add to their 2024 season earnings.

First Round
Betony earned the first place spot with a solid 81.5-point ride on Salt River Rodeo's Windy Whiskey. Second place was taken by Matthew Tuni and his 78.5-point ride. Right behind Tuni was Boyce Kraut and his 76-point ride to go home third for the night.
Second Round
Once again, Betony awed the crowd with a first place 79-point ride on Honeycutt Rodeo's Divine Porcupine. In an effort for first place, Kraut fell short into second place with his 77-point ride. Also in the top-3 for the second consecutive round, Tuni finished off third with a 73.5-point effort.
Final Round
Betony claimed the final round win with an outstanding 82-point ride on JK Rodeo's Ship Shape. A new face on the leaderboard, Rhett Hadley Kelley, took home the second place honours with a 72-point go. In the third place seat, Tuni solidified his spot in the average with a 70-point ride.

Evan Betony was crowned the Turquoise Circuit Finals bareback riding champion with a combined 242.5-points on three head. Betony had over 20 points on the second place rider, Matthew Tuni. Tuni earned the second place position in the average with a total of 222-points on three broncs. Rhett Hadley Kelley went home third in the average with mixed 207-points on three head.
Betony earned a total of $8,573 this weekend towards his 2024 PRCA season standings. Betony has never qualified for the National Finals Rodeo, but this could be his breakout year.

Kaleb Kistner is from New Braunfels, a small community nestled in the Texas Hill Country. There’s only one “s” in Braunfels! Growing up in Comal County, it was an annual tradition to attend the Comal County Fair and Rodeo. Down the road was the San Antonio Stockshow and Rodeo, that his grandparents would religiously take him to each year. Along with the annual rodeos, Kaleb was an active member in FFA throughout high school. Showing rabbits and pigs, assisting with steers and goats, and participating in leadership development events, Kaleb received a well-rounded, basic education in agriculture. On top of that, Kaleb earned his Eagle Scout with Boy Scouts of America. Kaleb has a strong work ethic and love for agriculture and the great outdoors. He hopes to be able to spread his knowledge and bring a better understanding of the Western way of life to those who may not understand. Kaleb has pursued a career in plumbing, continuing to achieve each possible license as quickly as he can. Kaleb has a beautiful fiancée Makayla and his sweet daughter Kinleigh. During his down time, he and his family enjoy going to their parents’ ranches to spend time with the family.
