Rodeo Stars Shine in Bracket 5 Showdown

Bracket 5 at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo featured some impressive displays of skills as cowboys and cowgirls competed in various events for a chance to qualify for the Semifinals.

In the bareback riding, Clint Laye emerged as the winner of the first round with an astonishing 87-point ride on Sunset Trail from Smith Pro Rodeo, earning him $2,000. Jacek Lane Frost gave a dominating performance in the second round, scoring 87 points on Network Gazer from Pickett Pro Rodeo, and added another $2,000 to his earnings. Frost advanced with $2,600, closely followed by Laye and wildcard entry Tristan Hansen, who earned $2,000 and $1,500, respectively.

Dalton Massey showcased his skills in the steer wrestling event, clocking in at 3.4 seconds in the first round and 4.5 seconds in the second, securing a total of $4,000 and a spot in the Semifinals. Winsten McGraw followed closely, earning $2,000, with Tyler Pearson securing the wildcard entry and $1,500.

Saddle bronc riding was a thrilling event, with Allen Boore and Statler Wright tying in the first round, each scoring 88.5 points and pocketing $1,750. However, Wright clinched the lead in the second round with an 88.5-point ride on Urgent Delivery from Calgary Stampede, earning him a total of $3,750. Lefty Holman advanced, and Allen Boore secured wildcard entry with $2,250 and $1,750, respectively.

In the team roping, Jake Cooper Clay and Trey Yates impressed with a swift 4.3-second run in the first round, securing $2,000 each. Cole Thomas and Dylin Ahlstrom emerged victorious in the second round with a time of 4.8 seconds, earning them $2,000 apiece. Both teams advanced to the next round, along with wildcard team Ty Arnold and Tyler McKnight.

Lane Livingston dominated the tie-down roping, claiming victory in both rounds and securing a total of $4,000. John Douch showed skill and consistency, earning $2,000 and a spot in the next round, while wildcard entry Ryan Jarret secured his place with a stellar performance.

Ashley Castleberry was dominant in the barrel racing event, blazing through the course in 16.57 seconds in the first round and 16.31 seconds in the second round, earning her $4,000 and a spot in the next round. Preslie Reid followed closely, securing $2,000 and advancing to the Semifinals. Tracy Nowlin also secured her wildcard entry with an impressive performance.

Braden Richardson and Justin Houston showcased their skills in the bull riding, with Richardson earning $5,000 and Houston securing $2,750. T.J. Gray claimed the wildcard entry with a stellar ride.

In the breakaway roping, Bradi Good and Braylee Shepherd demonstrated agility and precision, each securing a spot in the Semifinals along with wildcard entry Addee Carder.
