Jake Finlay, Shea Fournier and Karson Mebane claimed Saddle Bronc titles at rodeos in Texas and California on Sunday.

Finlay swooped in during the final day of the Fort Bend County Fair and Rodeo in Rosenberg, Texas, and claimed an 84.5-point ride on Sweet Sue, supplied by Mo Betta Rodeo, to overtake Cort Scheer’s 84-point ride from an earlier go-round.

Finlay, who finished 32nd in Saddle Bronc in the 2022 World Standings, claimed $2,527 with the victory. Scheer’s second-place finish brought him $1,937.

Fournier was already in the lead in the two-round average at the PRCA Permit Finals in Waco, Texas, after Saturday’s second round. On Sunday, Bailey Small had the best ride, claiming an 84.5-point ride on Scarlette, supplied by Cervi Championship Rodeo. But, Fournier was right behind him with an 84-point ride.

That allowed Fournier to remain the lead on the final average, with a three-ride score of 251.5, which brought him $1,535 in winnings. He claimed $1,024 in the second round and $768 in the third round.

Zachary Dallas was second in average with 248.5 points and won $1,151.

Out on the west coast at the Grand National Rodeo in Daly City, Calif., Karson Mebane won both rounds and the average in Saddle Bronc.

He won Round 1 with a 73.5-point ride on Rosser Rodeo's Wrangler Gold and Round 2 with a 79.5-point ride on Rosser Rodeo's Colt 45. Mebane had a combined 153 points and won $790 on the average.

Mebane, 23, is out of Bakersfield, Calif., and has been a member of PRCA since 2022. His last victory in Saddle Bronc was in August at the Ventura County Fair Rodeo in Ventura, Calif.
