Logan Cook Takes Slim Saddle Bronc Lead at Springhill Rodeo

If there was a time for Logan Cook to make a move up the PRCA Saddle Bronc leaderboard it’s this weekend in Springhill, La.
Cook led the Saddle Bronc event after his ride of 85.5 points on Big Rafter Rodeo's Black Berry Brandy. If he were to win, it would be his sixth individual championship of the season.
More importantly, it would be a helpful payday, as he is ranked No. 26 in the world in the event.
It’s a long, long shot for Cook to make it to the Top 15 in winnings by the end of the month so he can go to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas.
Cook had $69,969.34 in winnings entering Springhill. The No. 15 rider, Isaac Diaz, has $116,497.52.
This is the last weekend before the CINCH Playoff Series Championships in Sioux Falls, S.D., and there are several important rodeos going on around the country that could impact standings next week.
Those events include the Cowboy Capital of the World PRCA Rodeo in Stephenville, Texas ($36,000); the Sheriff’s PRCA Rodeo in San Bernardino, Calif. ($95,000); the Amarillo Tri-State Fair and Rodeo in Amarillo, Texas ($45,00); and the Pasadena Livestock Show and Rodeo in Pasadena, Texas ($45,000).
Cook’s closest pursuer is Ryder Sanford, who had an 85-point ride. Sanford is No. 14 in the Saddle Bronc standings and is by no means assured a bid to the NFR with less than two weeks to go.
