Top Timed Event Athletes Secure Shot at $1M in American Contender East Finals
After completing two rounds and a redemption round, the top 13 athletes in timed events have secured their spots in the championship round scheduled for Saturday at the American Contender East Regional Finals in Lexington, Ky.—the final destination on the American Contender tour. The five leading athletes from the East Regional Finals will progress to The American Contender Tournament Finals in Abilene, Texas. At this stage, the top 5 athletes in each discipline from the three regions will vie against each other, and from a field of 15, the contenders will be narrowed down to the final 5.
These top 5 contenders will then participate in The American Rodeo on March 9 at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas, as part of the most lucrative payday in rodeo. They will compete head-to-head with the world's top five for a share of the $360,000 prize money and a chance at the $1 million bonus.
