The barrel racers and their equine athletes have been running hard all season to make it into those coveted top-15 spots in the world standings.

Only the top competitors in each rodeo event are able to compete in the National Finals Rodeo at the Thomas and Mack Arena this December.

Season earnings is how the world standings are calculated and this is the first year that it took over $100,000 in earnings to be in the top-15 in the barrel racing.

Below is a look at the current standings and each athlete's earnings.

  1. *Brittany Tonozzi, $249,563
  2. Jordan Briggs, $160,824
  3. Lisa Lockhart, $134,593
  4. Kassie Mowry, $133,802
  5. *Taycie Wynne, $122,661
  6. *Jessica Routier, $116,437
  7. *Emily Beisel, $115,005
  8. *Wenda Johnson, $111,700
  9. Ilyssa Riley, $110,619
  10. *Stevi Hillman, $109,031
  11. Sissy Winn, $109,031
  12. *Hailey Kinsel, $105,775
  13. *Summer Kosel, $101,181
  14. *Sue Smith, $100,643
  15. *Paige Jones, $100,412
  16. Sara Winkleman, $91,276
  17. *Kelly Allen, $86,101
  18. Ashley Caslteberry, $85,284

The 12 riders headed to the Governor's Cup have a huge opportunity to add to their earnings with the massive payout.

Below is a look at how the Cinch Playoffs are structured:

Thursday and Friday- Rounds 1 & 2

  1. $10,000
  2. $7,500
  3. $5,000
  4. $2,500

Times from round one and two will be averaged and then the top-eight will move on to a clean-slate round. The top-four from that round will then move on to the final round on Saturday.

Saturday-Final Round

  1. $25,000
  2. $19,000
  3. $12,000
  4. $6,000

A late season event such as this could really shake things up going into the NFR. If one of the barrel racers did a clean-sweep at the Cinch Playoffs they would be banking $45,000 total in prize money.

Just a glance at how close all the rider's earnings are shows how significant this kind of payout is.
