Relentless Remuda Dominates 6 & Under Heading and Heeling Futurities at Royal Crown in Buckeye

Relentless Remuda dominates the Royal Crown with Sevens Hank 2 and Pride and Joyy taking home the titles in the 6 & Under Heading and Heeling futurities, respectively.

The highly anticipated Royal Crown futurity in Buckeye, Ariz., commenced with the 6 & Under Heading and Heeling futurities at the Buckeye Equestrian Center from Feb. 7-18, 2024, offering top-tier competitions.

In the 6 & Under Heading, Sevens Hank 2, a 2019 gelding by CSR Dual Glo out of Sevens Tootsie Time (Hes Dun His Time), ridden by Miles Baker and owned by Relentless Remuda, secured the title with an aggregate score of 603.28, earning $8,062 for the owner, $1,500 for the sire, and $1,000 for the breeder, Marshall Wier. Sevens Hank 2 also clinched first place in Round 1 for $2,000 and triumphed in the Short Go.

In the 6 & Under Heeling, Pride and Joyy, a 2019 Royal Crown stallion by Stevie Rey Von out of Fun N Fancy Free (Peptoboonsmal), ridden by Jeremy Buhler and owned by partners Relentless Remuda, Solo Select, and Kaleb Terlip, claimed victory with a total score of 617.07 points, leading by 12 points. Pride and Joyy earned $7,440 for the owner, $1,368 for the sire, and $912 for the breeder, Ty Smith. In addition, Pride and Joyy secured first place in Round 1 for $2,000, first in Round 2 for $2,000, second in Round 3 for $1,200, and first in the Short Go.

The week-long event promises exciting showcases in team roping, calf roping, breakaway roping, and barrel racing, featuring skilled riders and talented equine athletes. The event offers significant payouts, with stallion and breeder money sharing to encourage breeding to Royal Crown Stallions. Notably, there are no nomination fees, and foals sired by current stallions are automatically eligible to participate.
