Historians and hoops fans will always debate what school Kobe Bryant would have attended had he decided to play college basketball. While we will never truly know the answer, his legacy continues to live on in the NCAA thanks to six newly established "Mamba Programs."

Earlier this fall, Vanessa Bryant teamed up with Nike to honor six college basketball programs with the designation and has begun supplying the squads with player-exclusive apparel and sneakers. On Saturday night, the Duke Blue Devils Women's Basketball team showed off their new Nike Kobe 8s in a pair of exquisite colorways. Check out their Instagram video below for a detailed look.

The Nike Kobe 8 Protro 'Duke' colorways arrive in white/blue and blue/white colorways. Fans can expect the Blue Devils to debut the unreleased basketball shoes in today's game against the Under Armour-sponsored South Carolina Gamecocks. However, do not plan on these kicks ever hitting shelves.

The vast majority of sneakerheads are still struggling just to buy general-release colorways of Nike's newest retro Kobe sneaker. But there is a silver lining for last-minute holiday shoppers. Online shoppers can purchase Duke apparel and sneakers on the Nike website while they wait for more of Bryant's legendary sneakers to be released.

So far, two of the six Mamba Programs (Duke and LSU) have officially debuted their player-exclusive Nike Kobe 8 Protro sneakers. Fans can expect plenty of more heat to come as the college basketball season hits its stride. Stay locked into FanNation Kicks for all your sneaker news.
