Jon Jones Off UFC 295 Card

Jon Jones will no longer defend the heavyweight title on November 11 at UFC 295.
The news was announced last night on social media by UFC CEO Dana White.

White shared that Jones tore a pectoral tendon off the bone in training on Monday night, and that the injury will require surgery. With Jones off the card, Stipe Miocic has also been removed from UFC 295.
The new headline bout for 295 is Jiri Procházka against Alex Pereira for the vacant light heavyweight championship. The co-main is now an interim heavyweight title fight pitting Sergei Pavlovich against Tom Aspinall. It is still a compelling card at Madison Square Garden, but losing Jones-Miocic is deflating.
The possibility still remains that Jones and Miocic will fight in 2024. Stop me if you have heard this before, but that would mean both Jones and Conor McGregor would compete in the coming year. But there is no guarantee. Miocic turns 42 in August, and Jones will be 37 in July, limiting the opportunity for the highly anticipated bout. This injury casts serious doubt of whether it will take place, adding an air of uncertainty to the future of both fighters.
