Exclusive Clip from Sgt. Slaughter’s “Biography: WWE Legends” Episode

Sgt. Slaughter will be remembered as one of wrestling’s most characters.
After building himself into an American hero who was defined by his patriotism, even being playing a part in the iconic G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero series, his most memorable stretch took place as an Iraqi sympathizer during the Gulf War.
That stretch took Slaughter–who was brought to life by Bob Remus–to his highest point of fame. But his career is a fascinating one, especially the early years learning from Verne Gagne in the AWA.
The depth of Slaughter’s career will be covered this Sunday. Of course, there will be discussion about the WrestleMania VII main event against Hulk Hogan, as well as defeating The Ultimate Warrior to win the WWE title.
But a look at those AWA years, which even included a run as a masked heel managed by Lord Alfred Hayes, will provide some unique insight into a legendary career.
