Jake Paul on Logan Paul’s US Title Reign in WWE: ‘I Don’t Think Anyone There Expected Him To Be Wearing The Belt Around Naked’

Jake Paul is enjoying his brother Logan’s run as United States champion

Logan Paul is making the most of his time as WWE’s United States champion.

Dating back to its inaugural title holder–Harley Race in 1975–the belt possesses an incredibly rich history. Past U.S. champions include Ric Flair, Steve Austin, John Cena, Bryan Danielson, Roddy Piper, Terry Funk, Ricky Steamboat, Dusty Rhodes, Rey Mysterio, Lex Luger, Sting, Rick Rude, Eddie Guerrero, and Curt Hennig.

For better or worse, in only two weeks since winning the belt from Mysterio at Crown Jewel, Paul has achieved entirely new feats as champion. These include, but are not limited to, showering with the belt, running a 5K with it, getting it appraised at a pawn shop, and having it by his side as he made love to fiancée Nina Agdal.

Jake Paul, who is Logan’s younger brother and a star fighter in his own right, provided his perspective on his older brother’s success in pro wrestling.

“It’s crazy how fast he’s excelled and ascended to be the United States champion,” said Paul. “No one could have expected Logan to be this perfect for WWE. I don’t think anyone there expected him to be wearing the belt around naked, either. But I guess that’s what you get when you sign up with the Paul brothers.”

Last November, Paul made his WWE debut, providing backup for Logan in his championship bout against Roman Reigns. While there are no plans for him to enter WWE any time soon, an eventual return, especially as his brother’s popularity surges, feels inevitable.

Paul’s current focus is his boxing career. In a bout that airs on DAZN, Paul will step into the ring next on December 15 against Andre August. But hearing about his brother’s wrestling endeavors is a welcome distraction throughout training camp.

“What Logan’s doing, it’s amazing to see how good he is at the sport,” said Paul. “I’m so proud of him. And this is just the start of what he’s going to accomplish in WWE.”
