CORONA CALIF. -- Mater Dei senior linebacker David Bailey and senior running back Raleek Brown played so well in Friday's 21-16 win over Corona Centennial, that after the game Monarch head coach Bruce Rollinson lifted both of their arms with his own and presented them to the Mater Dei crowd.

“Let’s hear it for David!” Rollinson yelled. “Let’s hear it for Raleek!”

Bailey made two of the most important plays of the game for Mater Dei. In the third quarter, he had a strip sack of Centennial quarterback Izzy Carter that led to the Monarchs game-winning touchdown courtesy of a 12-yard run from Brown. In the fourth quarter, Bailey sacked Centennial’s other quarterback, Carson Conklin, which pushed back the Huskies and forced them to punt two plays later trailing 21-16 with 2:02 to play.

From there, Mater Dei used Brown to run out the clock. On a third and four from the Monarch 20, Brown picked up five yards to clinch the game. He finished with two touchdown runs on the night.
