LA VERNE– Payden White (24 points) and Chance Stephens (23 points) stole the show on Wednesday – along with Poly's defense – as Riverside Poly defeated host team Damien 64-56 in the Platinum Division semifinals at the Classic.

Poly, starting three freshman, jumped out to a 26-14 lead before the Spartans came roaring back to take a 37-36 lead at halftime. But the Bears held them to 19 second-half points and a relatively challenging night on offense despite 24 points from RJ Smith. Poly's win avenged a narrow loss against Damien earlier in the season, which is still the only loss for 16-1 Poly.
