SANTEE, Calif. -- Santana started quickly on Thursday, scoring four runs over the first five innings of the Lions Tournament finale to lead El Camino Real 4-1 after five innings. The Royals, however, responded with three runs in the sixth inning and tacked on an additional run in the seventh to break the tie lead Santana 5-4 as the bottom of the seventh inning began.
Santana quickly loaded the bases on two singles and a hit batsmen before senior catcher Jason Gonzalez stepped up and rifled the second pitch of his at-bat to right field for a single, allowing two Sultans to sprint home for the walk-off win.
