Kjei Parker, Winter Haven, Boys Basketball: Getting back to the RP Funding Center was going to need a strong efforts from some players and Parker stepped up to the plate. The guard scored 17 points in helping lead the Blue Devils past Newsome, 76-42 last week. Now, Winter Haven is in the Class 7A state semifinals. 

Cameron Boozer, Columbus, Boys Basketball: Is it ever a question that one of the Boozer twins isn't going to show up for the Explorers? Cameron was the leader this time around, scoring 22 points in leading Columbus past Doral Academy 69-29 in a Class 7A, Region 4 semifinal matchup.

Dwayne Wimbley Jr., Westminster Academy, Boys Basketball: Wimbley Jr. simply could not be stopped in the opening minutes of a region semifinal against Miami Country Day. The guard put on a masterpiece, scoring a game-high 32 points to lead the Lions past the Spartans. 

Cole White, Windermere, Boys Basketball: One of the possibly considered 'upsets' of the boys basketball playoffs was Windermere upending Olympia, one of the state's top ranked clubs all year long. White scored 22 points and snagged nine boards in a Class 7A, Region 2 semifinal win last week against the Titans in a 66-51 win. 

Bryce Clayton, Barron Collier, Boys Basketball: When the Cougars needed the game-winner, Clayton was the go-to-guy they dialed up. Clayton hit a floater with 2.1 seconds to go, proving to be the go-ahead basket in a 57-55 win over Mariner in a Class 5A, Region 3 semifinal. 

Christian Cole, Tampa Catholic, Boys Basketball: The Crusaders hit on thirteen 3-pointers in a Class 3A, Region 3 semifinal against Gateway Charter. Cole hit on four of those, including three in a row without a miss in Tampa Catholic's 76-54 win against the Griffins.

Ramone Seals, SLAM Tampa, Boys Basketball: Reaching the Class 2A state semifinals is something only a handful of Tampa Bay area teams will be doing this week. The Spartans will be one of them thanks to Seals. The guard scored 21 points, grabbed seven boards and dished out six assists in a 65-36 over Canterbury in a Class 2A region final. 

Sam Ritchie, Ponte Vedra, Boys Basketball: The Sharks are heading back to Lakeland and Ritchie led the way throughout. The 6-foot guard scored a team-high 23 points and led Ponte Vedra to a 72-61 victory over Gainesville in a Class 6A region final.

Kalvin Gilbert, Providence School, Boys Basketball: There never was really any doubt to if the Stallions would make the Final Four in Class 4A. It was more of how they were going to go about cutting down the nets en route. Gilbert scored 14 points to pace Providence in a 91-59 win over Bishop Kenny. 

Trinity Turner, Dr. Phillips, Girls Basketball: Turner was given high praise by Winter Haven head coach Johnnie Lawson as a top 5 player of all time he's seen on the girls basketball circuit. She lived up to the billing in the Class 7A state championship, scoring 22 points and grabbing nine boards in a 47-43 win over the Blue Devils. 

De'Mya Adams, Hawthorne, Girls Basketball: When your school's football program wins a state title and the same head coach leads your basketball team, some extra motivation is there. Adams brought back another championship to the town of Hawthorne, scoring 18 and adding six steals in a 42-38 win over Wildwood for the Class 1A title.

Kristina Godfrey, Miami Country Day, Girls Basketball: With the team's leading scorer Kayla Nelms out, someone had to take the bull by the horns. That ended up being Godfrey, who scored 21 points and won her fourth state title with Miami Country Day in a 54-38 win over Cardinal Mooney for the Class 3A championship. 

Karina Gordon, St. Thomas Aquinas, Girls Basketball: On a team full of stars, Gordon shined the brightest in the Class 6A state championship game against Charlotte. The East Carloina-signee led all Raisers with a team-high 20 points in a dominating 67-43 win over the Fightin' Tarpons.

Anovia Sheals, Mainland, Girls Basketball: Though the Buccaneers almost let a big 17-point deficit get away from them, Sheals made sure Mainland brought the hardware back to Daytona Beach. Sheals led all scorers with 22 points, 13 boards in a 62-61 win in the Class 5A state championship game win over Plantation American Heritage. 

Jada Eads, Lake Highland Prep, Girls Basketball: At times, it didn't look like the Highlanders would be making it four straight state championships. Until they did behind the stellar play of Eads. The junior guard scored a team-high 21 points in leading Lake Highland Prep to a 55-45 win over Bishop Kenny for the Class 4A crown.

Holland Harris, Faith Christian, Girls Basketball: There was no denying Faith Christian bringing home the program's first-ever state title. Harris wouldn't allow it. The forward scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the Lions' 53-37 Class 2A state championship win over Horeb Christian. 

Yordan Torres, Viera, Boys Soccer: Torres' two goals were crucial in helping lift the Hawks to a 4-2 win over Fort Myers for the Class 6A state championship at Spec Martin Stadium. 

Juan Otero, Plantation American Heritage, Boys Soccer: Whenever you can notch a hat trick, it's a feat. Otero was able to do it in a state championship game as he scored three goals in a 3-1 win for the Class 5A state title over Naples. 

Lily Harrington, Lakeland Christian, Girls Soccer: The forward scored the two goals the Spartans needed, pushing St. Johns Country Day to a 2-1 win over St. Johns Country Day, who hadn't lost a playoff game since 2011. 

Claudio Torres, Lake Highland Prep, Wrestling: Torres upset three higher-seeded nationally ranked wrestlers in winning the 150lb. weight class at National Preps Tournament in Upper Marlboro, Maryland this past weekend.

Ethan Mojena, Lake Highland Prep Wrestling: Mojena shocked the seventh-ranked wrestler in the nation, at 144, in the finals of the National Preps Tournament in Upper Marlboro, Maryland over the weekend. Mojena's championship match victory over Sam Cartella of Western Reserve Academy (OH) in the final, followed an upset of No. 22 Logan Rozynski of Bair Academy in the semifinals.
