Defensive touchdowns abounded in Week 8 of the high school football season in Southwest Florida.

There were so many defensive and special teams scores that we lost count. But which performance on that side of the ball was the best?

You can decide by voting in our SBLive Southwest Florida Defensive Player of the Week poll below. Voting is open through Saturday and the winner will be announced in next week’s poll.

Here are this week's nominees:

Colin Anderson, Oasis: Took a punt return 90 yards to the end zone in a 45-7 win over Sante Fe Catholic.

Claude Bastien, Golden Gate: Compiled 11 tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble in a win over Barron Collier.

Jeremiah Bataille, Riverdale: Scooped a fumble and raced 40 yards for a score in a win over Baker.

Bryan Fitzgerald, Fort Myers: Had an interception, a fumble recovery, and a sack in a victory over rival South Fort Myers.

Marshon Jackson, Immokalee: Had a 65-yard fumble return touchdown in a victory vs. Palmetto Ridge.

Xavier Jackson, Island Coast: His interception in the end zone with less than a minute left sealed the Gators’ 12-9 win over Cape Coral.

Chris Jimenez, Gulf Coast: His interception return TD was the difference in a 21-19 win over West Broward.

Emrhe Pray, Community School: Scored three defensive touchdowns, two interception returns and a blocked punt return, in a 52-0 win.

Eric Thomas, East Lee: His tackle for loss in the end zone resulted in a safety during a 12-3 win over Cypress Lake.

Winston Watkins, First Baptist Academy: Returned a blocked punt for a TD and also had 156 yards and three TDs receiving in a shutout of St. John Neumann.
