Here are the nominees:
Marlon Williams, Cardinal Mooney: One of the hottest teams in the state right now is the Cougars of Sarasota. Williams has guided the team to five straight victories, with wins over Sickles, Sarasota Booker and Lakewood.
Ochiel Swaby, Miami Country Day: It’s no surprise the Spartans are playing well at this time of the year under Swaby. Swaby has led his team to four consecutive wins over Blanche Ely, Dwyer, Doral Academy and North Broward Prep.
Johnnie Lawson, Winter Haven: Another one of the state’s top teams has gotten on a roll here as of late. Lawson led the Blue Devils to four wins last week, with victories over Oak Ridge, Kathleen, Palm Bay and West Orange.
Zach Anspach, Springstead: The Eagles have been unbeatable as of late on the North Suncoast. Anspach has led the team to 11 straight wins, including a 46-26 win over rival Nature Coast last week.
Jalen Outten, Lely: Before the turn of the new year, the Trojans were under the .500 mark. Now Outten has the team riding a 6-game winning streak and now sit at 11-8.
Joel Bower, Bloomingdale: The Bulls are 20-0 on the season and Bower led his squad to arguably their best victory of the season. Bower guided his undefeated club to a 60-53 win over Seffner Christian last week.
