Vote: Who has been the best senior football player in Maine in 2023?
We are just heading into the postseason part of the 2023 high school football season here in Maine and there’s no shortage of upperclassmen performing at a high level.
It’s no surprise that seniors are showing out in the Pine Tree State as that’s been the case in the past many times over. This list of upperclassmen features some of the top senior football players we’ve seen or have been on the rise in Maine. Take a look at our list and vote for who you feel has been the top performing senior high school football player in Maine.

Editor’s note: Our corresponding poll is intended to be fun, and we do not set limits on how many times a fan can vote during the competition. This poll is specifically for fans to vote on the players that have been nominated and in no way discredits any other player that may not be mentioned in our poll.
Here are the nominations:
Cohen Galley, QB/DB, Oceanside: The two-way star has been solid on both sides of the ball for the Mariners. Galley has completed 85-of-140 passes for 1,808 yards, 23 touchdowns and a mere three interceptions. The signal caller has rushed for 1,263 yards and scored 23 touchdowns. Also has made 60 tackles, 12 for loss, two sacks and two interceptions.
Carter Galley, WR, Oceanside: The wide receiver is leading the state in the receiving department with 35 catches, 716 yards and nine touchdowns. Galley also has made 18 tackles and four for a loss.
Aiden Sergent, RB, Oceanside: Sergent has made plays at running back and defensive end for the Mariners. The Oceanside two-way star has rushed 1,041 yards, 10 touchdowns and on the defense has made 40 tackles, eight for a loss and three sacks.
Terrell Edwards, QB/DB, Bonny Eagle: Edwards has played very well for the Scots this season under center. The quarterback has completed 77-of-139 passes for 909 yards and 14 touchdowns. The Scots’ signal caller has rushed for 1,446 yards and scored 25 touchdowns on the ground.
Sam Dube, QB/DB, Messalonskee: Dube is another dual-threat quarterback that’s done a lot of damage on the ground. The Eagles’ signal caller has rushed for 879 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Marcus Tillery, RB/DB, Windham: One of the top running backs in the state has been Tillery. The tailback has carried the rock 70 times for 623 yards and scored nine touchdowns.
Sean Davis, LB, Noble: The 5-foot-10, 180-pound middle linebacker/wide receiver leads all seniors in the tackles department with 90, three for a loss and a sack.
Brycen Scales, WR/DB, Hampden: Scales has made a big difference on the defensive side of the ball for the Broncos. The defensive back has notched 80 tackles, three interceptions and on offense has totaled 262 yards and five touchdowns.
