This week's SBLive Oklahoma Top 25 high school girls basketball rankings

For most Oklahoma high school girls basketball teams, even the most successful squads, the looming presence of COVID-19 has been unavoidable.

Many teams last week couldn’t play due to COVID-19 reasons, whether it affected those teams or their opponents. This week, though, those teams are expected to return to action, especially with big tournaments on the horizon.

Here are this week's SBLive Oklahoma Top 25 high school girls basketball rankings.

1. Edmond North (10-0)

The Lady Huskies had a pair of scheduled games last week postponed due to COVID-19. North is scheduled to resume play Tuesday at Norman and then will take part in the Jenks/Union Invitational starting Thursday.

2. Choctaw (10-0)

Choctaw also had an unexpected week off due to COVID-19 protocols. The Lady Yellowjackets are to take part in the Moore Tournament starting on Thursday.

3. Tuttle (8-1)

The Lady Tigers had a pair of games postponed last week due to COVID-19. Tuttle was scheduled to play at home Tuesday against Newcastle and then will play Thursday at the Jones Tournament.

4. Midwest City Carl Albert (10-1)

The Lady Titans haven't played since their loss to Broken Arrow in the title game of the Bartlesville Tournament on Jan. 8. They will begin play in their own tournament on Thursday.

5. Sapulpa (7-2)

Off last week due to a pair of postponed games, the Lady Chieftains are back in action Tuesday at Broken Arrow. Then starting Thursday, they take part in the Shawnee Invitational.

6. Classen SAS (14-1)

The Lady Comets were able to get one game in last week. But it was a memorable one, as in a 99-26 win against Northwest Classen on Jan. 14, Jordan Harrison set a state 5-on-5 single-game scoring record with 74 points.

7. Tulsa Union (7-2)

Union lost to Broken Arrow, 38-37, on Jan. 14 as the Lady Tigers hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer. The Lady Redhawks are in action Tuesday against Booker T. Washington and then will participate in the Jenks/Union Invitational starting on Thursday.

8. Putnam City West (11-3)

The Lady Patriots rebounded from their loss to Classen SAS in the Putnam City Invitational title game with a 48-36 win against Putnam City North on Jan. 11.

9. McAlester (11-1)

On Jan. 11, the Lady Buffaloes posted a 60-46 win at home against Bishop Kelley but didn't play on Jan. 14 at Durant, as that game was postponed due to COVID-19. McAlester will be back in action Thursday at the Shawnee Tournament.

10. Bixby (10-3)

The Lady Spartans had a scheduled game at Muskogee on Jan. 11 postponed. But they were able to play on Jan. 14, as Bixby went to Jenks and came away with a 55-25 win. The Lady Spartans traveled to Bartlesville on Tuesday.

11. Hydro-Eakly (13-0)

Hydro-Eakly resumes play on Jan. 24 at home against Lookeba-Sickles, and will also be at home the following night to take on Minco.

12. El Reno (9-2)

The Lady Indians played two games last week. They lost at home to Del City, 42-33, on Jan. 11 before bouncing back on Jan. 14 to win at Guthrie, 58-44. El Reno returns to action Thursday at the Shawnee Tournament.

13. Lincoln Christian (11-2)

Two games last week were postponed due to COVID-19. The Lady Bulldogs are scheduled to return to action on Jan. 25 with a home game against Victory Christian.

14. Howe (10-3)

The Lady Lions are taking part in the annual LeFlore County Tournament this week. They are going for an unprecedented eighth consecutive LCT championship.

15. Midwest City (7-3)

After two games were postponed last week, the Lady Bombers returned home Tuesday to take on rival Del City.

16. Holland Hall (8-2)

The Dutch had several games last week shut down due to COVID-19. Holland Hall was scheduled to be back in action Tuesday at Regent Prep.

17. Okarche (16-1)

Okarche, which had a game postponed on Jan. 14, returned to action Tuesday at Hennessey and then will compete at the Coyle Tournament beginning on Thursday.

18. Sand Springs (10-0)

One of the state's biggest surprises, the Lady Sandites continued their perfect season with wins against Broken Arrow (66-46 on Jan. 11) and Bartlesville (55-37 on Jan. 14). They will play at the Jenks/Union Invitational beginning on Thursday.

19. Norman (9-2)

The Lady Tigers survived a tight affair with Moore on Jan. 14, winning by one point, 54-53. Norman now welcomes in top-ranked Edmond North on Tuesday.

20. Jones (8-3)

Jones recorded a solid road win on Jan. 11, winning at Class 4A Tecumseh, 41-38. The Lady Longhorns traveled to Luther Tuesday in a showdown between 3A contenders and then will have their Jones Kiwanis Invitational starting Thursday.

21. Pocola (12-0)

The Lady Indians won at Wilburton on Jan. 11, 54-24. Pocola will be playing this week at the LeFlore County Tournament.

22. Mustang (10-3)

The Lady Broncos were able to play a pair of games over the past several days. They won at Westmoore, 66-39, on Jan. 14 and then returned home Monday and picked up a 67-37 win against Stillwater. Mustang will participate at the Shawnee Invitational starting on Thursday.

23. Weatherford (12-2)

Weatherford was off last week due to COVID-19 protocols. The Lady Eagles returned to action Tuesday with a home game against Altus.

24. Lomega (12-3)

The Lady Raiders were back in action Tuesday at Ringwood. Then on Thursday, they take part at the Cherokee Strip Tournament being held at Pioneer High School.

25. Perry (10-2)

Perry recorded a 64-40 win at home against Chisholm on Jan. 11, but on Monday, the Lady Maroons suffered a 52-50 road loss at Frontier. They will be at the Cashion Tournament starting Thursday.
