Congratulations to Oak Grove head coach Mark Holcomb, the winner of SBLive North Carolina's Coach of Week award as voted by North Carolina high school sports fans.

Holcomb captured 55.70% of the state-wide, with just under 16,000 voters casting in his favor, after his Grizzlies remained undefeated with a victory over rival North Davidson, where Holcomb once coached.

Here are all the other coaches that were nominated for Oct. 3-Oct. 8:

Bryan Davis, North Brunswick

In this era of explosive offenses, low-scoring games are very much the exception. Davis just directed his Scorpions to a grinding, 6-0 win over Hoggard. They're now 6-1 and this is one of North Brunswick’s best teams in many years.

Richard Shuping, Rolesville

Shuping’s team walloped previously undefeated Millbrook 35-6. Now that’s an attention-getter for sure. Rolesville got hot in the playoffs last year and reached the 4-A state championship game.

Nick Eddins, Pinecrest

The Patriots knocked off previously unbeaten Lee County 40-23 and are on track to win their first-ever conference championship. Eddins is in his first season at Pinecest. He's won at two other stops and he’s doing it again.

John Mozerka, Apex

The undefeated Cougars pounded rival Apex Friendship 42-14. That's the fifth time they have topped 40 points in 2022.

Apex was 5-5 last season, so Mozerka has the Cougars on a big-time upswing in 2022.

D.J. McFadden, Independence

The Patriots beat Providence 28-13 to improve to 6-1 on the season. Independence was 5-4 in 2021 and McFadden has the program moving along with plenty of momentum.

Will Byrne, Maiden

A former player at Maiden, Byrnes is winning as a coach, too. The Blue Devils were 13-1 last season. So far, they're 6-1 in 2022.
