The best scorer in Washington high school history hasn't wasted any time acquainting herself with big moments on the college basketball stage.

Cashmere grad Hailey Van Lith's contested layup gave top-ranked Louisville the lead with less than a minute to go in a back-and-forth win over Wake Forest on Sunday, helping the Cardinals (14-0) hold onto its No. 1 ranking in the Associated Press poll and remain one of two undefeated teams in the country.

The finish by Van Lith, who finished with five points on the night, put the Cardinals up 62-61 with 46.6 seconds left. They went on to win 65-63 on the road.

As a freshman Van Lith has made an immediate impact. She plays around 30 minutes per contest and is averaging 12.6 points and 6.1 rebounds while shooting 40.3 percent from 3-point range. She has scored 15 or more points five times this season.

In high school, Van Lith created one spectacular moment after another, including breaking the state's all-time girls basketball scoring record in a 46-point, 12 rebound and 10-assist outing against Omak last February. She passed Davenport's Jennifer Stinson, who set the previous record in 1995. She was a consensus five-star recruit and ESPN ranked her as the No. 8 prospect nationally in the class of 2020.
