Mets outfielder, Moises Alou, already on the disabled list after hernia surgery, injured his left ankle and flew up to New York for an MRI on it.

The results of the MRI aren't known yet, but Alou's return date has been thrown up into the air. Alou was rehabbing in the minors at Class A St. Lucie and had been expected to return in a few days before suffering the ankle injury.

Alou was said to have "banged'' the ankle but it also isn't known exactly how he hurt himself. Alou, 40, hasn't played yet this year after suffering a hernia in spring training. The Mets' offense has missed Alou, especially with Carlos Delgado struggling.
