Ramirez returns to Brewers, as DH vs. Twins

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) The Milwaukee Brewers activated third baseman Aramis Ramirez from the disabled list Wednesday.

Ramirez was in the lineup as the designated hitter at Minnesota for an interleague game against the Twins, more than three weeks after he strained his left hamstring while fielding a ground ball. He was batting fifth.

Utilityman Elian Herrera was optioned to Triple-A Nashville to make room on the roster.

Ramirez, who turns 36 later this month, started the season strong and had 19 RBIs in April. But he was in an 8-for-62 slump when he was injured. Mark Reynolds has taken most of the time at third base in Ramirez's absence, and the Brewers haven't missed a beat. They've been in first place in the NL Central every day since April 5.
