Mets recall C Travis d'Arnaud
D'Arnaud is set to be behind the plate and bat seventh Tuesday night for the Mets' interleague series opener against the AL West-leading Oakland Athletics.
To make room for d'Arnaud, the Mets placed catcher Taylor Teagarden on the 15-day disabled list because of a strained left hamstring.
The 25-year-old d'Arnaud was demoted to Las Vegas after the Mets' loss on June 7. He was hitting just .180 with three homers in 128 at-bats this season. He also missed time because of a concussion.
At Las Vegas, he hit .436 (24 for 55) with eight doubles, six homers and 16 RBIs in 15 games.
Manager Terry Collins says d'Arnaud made a few adjustments to his swing and regained some confidence at Las Vegas.
