ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) Texas shortstop Elvis Andrus left Thursday night's game with the Los Angeles Angels after being spiked on the left ankle while turning a double play.

The Rangers said Andrus was receiving treatment on the lower part of his ankle and that the injury wasn't considered serious. He got hurt in the second inning.

Andrus initially stayed in the game, but ran slowly after grounding out in the third. When Texas took the field in the fourth, already down 13-2, Adam Rosales moved from second to shortstop and Rougned Odor took over at second base.

On the play that he got hurt, Andrus fielded a grounder up the middle by Howie Kendrick. The shortstop stepped on the base in front of the sliding Erick Aybar before making the relay throw.
