The Blue Jays will likely activate first baseman Edwin Encarnacion from the disabled list after missing a month with a quadriceps strain​.

The Toronto Blue Jays will likely activate first baseman Edwin Encarnacion from the disabled list on Friday, according to MLB.com's Gregor Chisholm.

Encarnacion has been out since early July with a strained quadriceps. He began a rehab assignment last weekend and is expected to play this week with Triple A Buffalo.​

Encarnacion is hitting .277 with 26 home runs, 70 RBI and a .959 OPS in 88 games this season. The Blue Jays have lost seven of their last 10 games and are six games behind the Baltimore Orioles in the American League East.
