CLEVELAND (AP) Indians designated hitter Nick Swisher will have a second opinion on his sore right knee Tuesday in Los Angeles.

Swisher was examined by Indians team physician, Dr. Richard Parker, on Monday at the Cleveland Clinic. He will visit Dr. Neal S. ElAttrache, the team physician for the Dodgers. A determination on whether Swisher needs surgery could be made at that time.

Swisher is on the 15-day disabled list for the second time this season because of pain in the knee. He's batting .208 with eight homers and 42 RBIs in 97 games.

Swisher missed two weeks because of the injury in June.

The 33-year-old signed a four-year, $56 million contract prior to last season. He batted .246 with 22 homers and 63 RBIs in 2013.
