We have not had the pleasure of seeing Anthony Rendon suit up for the Los Angeles Angels since May 13th when he went down with a groin injury and had to leave a match against the Cleveland Guardians early.

Everybody has been waiting for Rendon to really break out and become that third star for the Halos behind Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani. He's shown what he could do at his best in the past with the Washington National and is now in his third year of a seven year deal worth $245 million.

Unfortunately, he hasn't been healthy ever since he inked those dotted lines and this groin injury feels like a broken record. Rendon has been dodging reporters as of late when it comes to addressing his recovery timeline despite it previously being rumored he'd be back this week against the White Sox or Astros.

But the former champion finally gave some sort of an update when The Athletic's Sam Blum asked him how he was feeling.

Asked Anthony Rendon how he was feeling. He said “amazing” and walked away.

That did not leave us much to speculate over but luckily team manager Phil Nevin then came forth with a more official statement and it's believed that Rendon will not play this week but could be back against the Chicago Cubs in a series that starts on June 6.

Rendon was off to a pretty solid start with the Halos this season when he was on the field. Outside of that early drama with the Oakland fan, he was been taking care of business with a .301 batting average and his power finally starting to come back.

This squad is not the same without Rendon and if you add a healthy version of him alongside some new guys that have been breaking out, the depth will look real nice in LA.
