There was nothing but positive vibes surrounding the clubhouse of the Los Angeles Angels heading into their Tuesday night game against the Chicago Cubs. They were able to avoid a sweep against the Houston Astros in their most recent series, they were headed back home, and most importantly... Anthony Rendon was finally back!

Rendon had missed 21 games with a groin injury and Halos fans were already growing super frustrated considering that injuries have defined much of his time here in LA and he is also not on the cheapest contract. But the star infielder assured he felt amazing and everything was set to go smooth right? Not exactly.

After just five innings in a rollercoaster match against Chicago, team manager Phil Nevin opted to take out Rendon early. The exact reason for this is unknown yet.

Update!!

Do not fear at all Angels fans... Rendon did not suffer another injury nor did he feel any discomfort with his recovering groin.

Nevin merely wanted to make some adjustments as they saw the tight game in front of them and didn't want to overwork their returning infielder. Gio Urshela checked in at third base for Rendon... we are beyond happy to hear that it was nothing worse.

That fifth inning in which we last saw Rendon was truly insane though. LA entered the inning down 4-1 and exited with a 6-4 lead.

Shohei Ohtani was able to connect on a homer to get them started and then a number of guys were able to get some huge RBI's and the likes of Brandon Drury, Luis Rengifo, Gio Urshela, and Mike Trout all scored.

We'll be sure to keep you guys updated as we know more!
