The Los Angeles Angels reverted back to old ways on Saturday night as they were stuck in quite the tight battle against the Miami Marlins. They had been playing some of their best baseball all year leading up to then but all came crashing down in those last few innings.

Both squads actually had to enter a 10th inning with the score tied 4-4 and this is where things got very interesting. Back to back errors occurred by LA's defense as Mickey Moniak fumbled a fly ball by Garrett Cooper which allowed Miami to score another run.

However, it could have all been over there except Matt Thaiss made a huge fielding error as well when he did not step up on home plate to get an out to end the inning and that led to three more insurance runs for the Marlins.

Take a look and assess these plays for yourself.

Moniak knew that he could have played a big role in stopping their late-game collapse and let the media know that he would do better.

“I take full blame for that one,” said Moniak. “That loss falls on me.”

He has had an amazing stint with the Angels ever since he got called up a couple of weeks ago but this will be a nice reality check that he must stay poised on both ends of the field.

Team manager Phil Nevin also touched base with postgame reporters and had a lot to say about the game. However, one thing he did not do was dwell on those late-game errors as he believed the team shouldn't have been in those situations in the first place.

:"It was just communication between Mike and Mick," said Nevin. "Those are two of the best outfielders in the game so I'm not going to beat on that one. We made plenty of other mistakes that costs us tonight. Three leadoff hitters get on and score, one from an error, one from a walk, we didn't finish the count. And we didn't score enough runs in regulation to get there."

Let's see how the team responds today at 1:07 pm PT.
