Anthony Rendon did not have the most ideal start to his 2023 campaign with the Los Angeles Angels.

This was slated to finally be the year where he would become that number three guy behind Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout. He certainly gets paid the part with his seven-year, $245 million contract but injuries in the past two seasons have left fans wondering if the move was worth it.

However, following the end of a four-game suspension, Rendon returned to the Halos lineup and saw multiple productive trips when he stepped up to bat. The Angels beat the Blue Jays 9-5 and in his postgame media session, team manager Phil Nevin looked Rendon's way when asked who was key in their win.

"It was really nice having Anthony back in there," said Nevin. "He lengthens us for one with the two hits obviously but I think the at-bat that maybe goes unnoticed the most and might've been one of the biggest bats of the game was second and third , gets a guy over and gets a guy in after getting two strikes on a top pitcher. It's really nice to have him back in there."

Rendon has been pinpointed as a Comeback Player of the Year favorite by different analysts and now he has another label to overcome following the early season scandal.

However, if he locks in and produces the way he's shown in the past, he will have a huge season in LA.
