Angels News: Taylor Ward Knows What LA is Capable of During Deficit Games

They almost were able to pull it off!

The Los Angeles Angels are kicking off a new home series against the Chicago White Sox and they will look to get back on track as they lost two straight series to both the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Colorado Rockies. LA has a lot to juggle right now with a number of their key infielders still injured and some new veterans coming into the mix after some timely trades.

Shohei Ohtani is still in the midst of a hot streak and has been climbing both the AL MVP list along with the Cy Young race. With the trade deadline getting closer and closer, it's clear that LA is fully bought in to winning and any rumors of The Unicorn getting dealt away have been shut down.

But let's take a look at their most recent series. It's pretty wild to me that they completely destroyed the Rockies on Saturday and saw historic offensive production only to lose to them on Sunday. By the the time fifth inning rolled around, they were down 3-0 and even though Shohei Ohtani, Brandon Drury and Mickey Moniak all were able to make it a ball game and the final score was 4-3, they still dropped the series.

And outfielder Taylor Ward summed up how they were feeling in the clubhouse afterwards and revealed that they believed they were gong to pull it out.

“I think it just showed the fight in our team,” Ward said. “We’ve had a few comeback victories like that. I was hoping for one there, and the team was, too. But I think it just shows the fight we have. I think it’s disappointing. We should’ve definitely done a better job and won more games here. Hopefully this fires us up and we take that into tomorrow."(Via MLB.com)

Let's hope things are different in their new series!
