Houston Astros closer Ryan Pressly is back from paternity leave. In his stead, Parker Mushinski, recently returned from the IL, will be demoted to the Sugar Land Space Cowboys.

Pressly has been absent since just prior to the All-Star break, his last appearance coming July 17 against the Oakland Athletics, facing three batters and striking out all three.

Post-All-Star break, the Astros have gone closer by committee. Bryan Abreu, Hector Neris and Rafael Montero have all picked up saves.

Mushinski, meanwhile, has been rather effective in his seven appearances this year, pitching to a 3.68 ERA with eight strikeouts and three walks in 7.1 innings. It won't be his final appearance for the Astros, and perhaps not his last time there in 2022.
