Braves Briefing: Where did MLB.com rank Atlanta's top 'trio' of hitters?

Should the trio of Ronald Acuña, Matt Olson, and Austin Riley be ranked as the best trio in baseball?

After the Los Angeles Dodgers signed Shohei Ohtani, it's worth looking over the league with a new perspective.

MLB.com ranked the top trios in baseball. Of course, they put the trio of Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and Ohtani as the top trio in baseball. In fact, Anthony Castrovince, the author of the rankings, dropped a casual take that we may see a lot of before the 2024 season starts. He wrote, "This is not just the best trio currently but potentially one of the best all time."

We will see.

He ranked Atlanta's trio of Ronald Acuña, Matt Olson, and Austin Riley as the second-best group of three in the MLB.

Here's what Castrovince wrote

"This was the only trio of teammates to finish in the top 10 in MLB in extra-base hits last season, combining for 236. (Freeman, Betts and Ohtani combined for 248, in case you were wondering, but obviously weren’t teammates yet.) Acuña’s historic 41-homer, 73-steal season took some attention away from Olson setting a new Braves record with 54 homers and Riley turning in his third straight season with more than 30 homers, 30 doubles, 90 RBIs and 300 total bases."
