Atlanta Braves Superstar Named Among Favorites To Lead The MLB In Steals

The Atlanta Braves will have plenty of opportunities to steal bases in 2024.

The Atlanta Braves offense is set up to remain towards the top of baseball in 2024.

The relentless firepower from the entire Braves lineup will help set up the entire roster with opportunities to steal bases this season, much like they did a year ago. On MLB.com, they listed out some potential favorites who could lead all of baseball with steals in 2024.

Of course, reigning MVP Ronald Acuña Jr. was the first name mentioned in the "Favorites" section of the story.

"Acuña’s speed isn’t what it was before his ACL tear in 2021, but that didn’t stop him from leading the Majors with 73 steals a year ago, in the process becoming the first player in MLB history to join the 40-homer, 70-steal club," Thomas Harrigan wrote. "Knowing how ambitious Acuña is -- he once said he wanted to produce MLB’s first 50-50 season, a goal that’s still in play for the 26-year-old -- I don’t expect him to suddenly start running less just because he made history in 2023."

Other favorites mentioned were CJ Abrams of the Washington Nationals, Esteury Ruiz of the A's, Corbin Carroll of the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Bobby Witt Jr. of the Kansas City Royals.

Acuña was the only member of the Braves mentioned in the article. If another name were to be mentioned, it'd most likely be Atlanta outfielder Michael Harris II. He was second on the team in steals with 20 in 2023. Second baseman Ozzie Albies was third on the roster in steals with 13.
