BREAKING: Matt Olson sets the Braves single-season homer record with his 52nd, passing Andruw Jones

The first baseman passes Andruw Jones for the most homers in a single season in Braves history

Atlanta Braves slugger Matt Olson hit a home run this afternoon in Miami, his 52nd of the season, to pass Andruw Jones for the most home runs in a single season in Atlanta Braves history.

The record-setter came off of reliever Steven Okert, who threw Olson a 93 mph middle-middle fastball to open the 6th inning. Olson launched it 433 feet, with it coming off the bat at 107.7 mph.

That's the ninth home run in the last thirteen games for Olson, who has absolutely raked since moving to the cleanup spot in the order 80 games ago. In that span, Olson's hit 34 home runs.

Braves great Andruw Jones congratulated Olson on breaking his record.
