How to Watch the Atlanta Braves take on the Philadelphia Phillies in Game Three of the NL Divisional Series

Atlanta's looking to take the series lead, but they've got to face off against Aaron Nola and the raucous Citizens Bank Park crowd.

We've got a series, folks.

After the Atlanta Braves dropped game one of the NL Divisional Series to the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday, 3-0, despite having the pitching advantage with a healthy Spencer Strider on the mound, things looked bleak.

But an amazing 5-4 Braves comeback victory on Monday, capped with an Austin Riley go-ahead homer in the 8th and the postseason's first ever 8-5-3 double play to end it in the ninth, meant the Braves and Phillies are tied at one game apiece as the series shifts to Philadelphia's Citizens Bank Park for games three and four.

Pitching Matchup for the Atlanta Braves and Philadelphia Phillies in Game Three

RHP Bryce Elder vs RHP Aaron Nola (1-0, 1.35 ERA in 2023 postseason)

The Braves announced this morning that Bryce Elder would be their starter for tonight's game. Elder's started twice against the Phillies in his career, with no decisions and a 3.38 ERA. His first start was June 22nd, with seven scoreless innings on three hits and two walks, striking out six. The second start was radically different - 3.2 innings on September 20th with four runs on three hits and five walks. He gave up two homers to Nick Castellanos.

On the other side, Nola will start after dazzling in seven scoreless frames against the Marlins in game two of the Wild Card round. Like Game Two starter Zack Wheeler, he has been up and down against the Braves, but being at home might play in his favor.

He spun six shutout innings at home in last year’s NLDS game three, and he did the same in his lone home start against Atlanta this season. However, he allowed seven runs and 14 hits over his two starts in Atlanta, so the Braves have had success against the 30-year-old righty. If the Braves want to jump on him, they’ll want to do it early in the game and let Atlanta’s game three starter work with a lead.

Season Series

Atlanta won eight games to Philadelphia's five, with 74 runs scored and 58 runs allowed.

Home: Atlanta was 3-4 against Philly in Truist Park (1-2 after winning the NL East)

Away: Atlanta was 5-1 against Philly in Citizens Bank Park
