Dodgers Manager Gives No Timetable for Young Starter to Return From Injured List

The Los Angeles Dodgers could be without their young star pitcher, Bobby Miller, for a while.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told LA Times staff writer Mike DiGiovanna that there is no timetable for Miller's return.

Miller was placed on the 15-day IL on Saturday with right shoulder inflammation. That leaves the rotation to four: Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Gavin Stone, James Paxton and Tyler Glasnow.

On top of that, the Dodgers still have many of their top arms on the ends, like Walker Buehler, Clayton Kershaw, Tony Gonsolin, Dustin May and Emmet Sheehan.

Miller's right shoulder inflammation could explain his last two outings. After a spectacular season debut against the St. Louis Cardinals, Miller has been a shell of himself. In 5.2 innings, he's given up seven earned runs, nine hits, two home runs, five walks, and a .375 average.

The good news is that Buehler's return could be upon us soon. He's been looking like his old self while rehabbing in Triple-A and could be back sometime in late April to early May.

The other good thing about this injury is that it's not severe—at least, that's what they told Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times. Still, it is on his pitching side, and we've seen other Dodger pitchers in the past miss more time than we thought.

Hopefully, we will see Miller back on the hill sooner rather than later. The last thing LA needs is to be down one more pitcher for the foreseeable future.
