Bobby Miller Gets High Praise From Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts

Roberts loved what he seen from his second year pitcher.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are off to a great start to their season. LA sits at 3-1 after a dominant performance by their Friday starter and second-year pitcher, Bobby Miller. Miller was as good as ever, throwing a gem against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The 24-year-old stud fed off the crowd, and he could do nothing wrong on the hill. Manager Dave Roberts spoke on Miller's performance after the game and praised the former top prospect.

“He’s a big piece to the puzzle,” Roberts said. “He’s a top-end guy. He’s proving that now. To go out there and expect to win when he’s out there. Also, as a big-bodied, physically pitcher, to be able to know that you’re going to be able to get five, six, seven innings out of him every time he takes the mound. … You need that length and you need those horses to get you through the season.”

Miller became the sixth player in Dodger history to record 6+ innings and 11+ strikeouts, zero earned runs, one walk, and two hits in a game. Overall, Miller only allowed two hits and allowed a .100 average in 93 pitches.

This is only the beginning for Miller. If he can keep posting brilliant starts throughout the season, he could earn himself an All-Star bid and, more importantly, be a threat in the Dodgers rotation when October rolls around. So far, he and the Dodgers are off to a great start.
