Dodgers Miguel Rojas Claps Back at Former Teammate Jazz Chisholm

Earlier this month, Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Miguel Rojas was heavily criticized by former teammate Jazz Chisholm Jr. on "The Pivot" podcast. Chisholm played alongside Rojas for three years on the Miami Marlins, before Rojas was traded to the Dodgers in 2023.

In Chisholm's complaint of Rojas, he recalled a story of when Rojas did not wake him up in time for a team meeting, causing Chisholm to miss the meeting. Rojas, who was considered a team leader with the Marlins, responded directly to this story.

“It’s not my job to wake you up," Rojas said on "Chris Rose Rotation." "If you feel like I’m a bad teammate if I don’t wake you up to go to a meeting, it’s not on me. I have one son and one daughter. Those are my responsibilities.”

Chisholm was also critical of the team's leadership while Rojas was with the team, and says the team's atmosphere is much better now. In his response, Rojas reiterated what bothered him about the comments, especially when they became personal to him as a person.

“I don’t care about the comments of one person, or people have of me because everybody is entitled to have their own opinion on you as a player, as a teammate, as a leader," Rojas said. "Whatever you want to say about me as a player… you can have that opinion. But you saying that I’m a bad person, when you don’t even know me, when you don’t even know where I come from, you’re not even part of what’s close to me or have the opportunity to sit down with me and get to know me as a person, that’s kind of what bothers me.”

The two players will face off this season when the Dodgers host the Marlins from May 6-8.
