Dodgers News: Shohei Ohtani Foul Ball Being Sold at Absurd Price

A signed foul ball from Shohei Ohtani is being sold for almost $15,000. Ohtani hit the ball almost three years ago while he was still with the Los Angeles Angels. The ball was hit off a 96.3 mph fastball by Colorado Rockies pitcher Germán Márquez on July 26, 2021, via Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times.

For those unable to secure this ball, there's expected to be plenty more foul balls and home runs from Ohtani since joining the Los Angeles Dodgers. Ohtani hit his first home run as a Dodger on Wednesday, which was caught by one of the fans at Dodger Stadium. The home run ball was returned to Ohtani, with the fan receiving one signed bat, two signed hats and a different signed ball from Ohtani.

She spoke to Dodgers Nation about the entire experience.

Ohtani finally hit the much-awaited first Dodger home run in a 5-4 win over the San Francisco Giants that completed the Dodgers' sweep over their NL West rival. It's been a slower than expected start to the season for the Dodgers' $700 million free agency signing, but Ohtani finally broke through for the home run. Overall on the season, Ohtani has 10 hits, seven runs, and four RBIs to go along with the home run. He's hit .270 and has a .317 on-base percentage entering Friday's game against the Chicago Cubs.
