Dodgers Star Says Team Has to Be 'Ready to Play' This Season Following Early Postseason Exits

Last season is over and done with.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have a target on their back the size of California. All eyes will be on the Boys in Blue as they look to clinch World Series title number eight.

Over the last few seasons, the Dodgers have been a laughing stock due to their constant shortcomings in October. However, none of that matters as we approach a new year. This is a new team with a bunch of star power. Although the pressure is on to get the job done, Mookie Betts understands the task at hand.

In a recent interview with the media, including Dodger beat writer from the LA Times, Jack Harris, the Dodger superstar, said it's important to show up this season and play to their abilities all season long and then some.

“We know we have to show up and be ready to play, especially after the last couple of years and falling short,” Betts said. “So it’s really important to enjoy ourselves while we’re here, but we also understand we have work to do.”

The goal is to win title number eight in 2024; however, Betts will never lose focus on the game and how fun it is.

It's vital for him and the other guys never to forget that because once they do, it'll be easy to lose sight of what's essential. Nonetheless, Betts and his teammates realize there is only one goal to achieve in 2024.

Most of these guys have participated in All-Star games; they've won Gold Gloves, sliver sluggers, MVPs, and all of the above. While they all have individual goals, the main objective is to be the last team standing. That's the only thing that matters for the organization, fans and the players.

Betts realizes it, but he won't forget to have fun in the process.
