Tyler Glasnow Reacts to First Home Start for Dodgers

Glasnow felt right at home.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are as solid as can be through their first couple games of the season. The Dodgers took one game in the Seoul Series against the Padres and will look to take care of business at home against the St. Louis Cardinals. They already have taken the first two games, and they'll look to sweep in these next two games.

The starting pitchers for the first two games against the Cardinals were lights out; Bobby Miller did his thing on Friday, and Game 1 starter and veteran Tyler Glasnow held his own on Thursday's domestic Opening Day.

Glasnow spent the first eight years of his career as a Pittsburgh Pirate and a Tampa Bay Ray. While he likely enjoyed himself there and made countless memories, nothing compares to playing for his hometown team, the Dodgers.

Glasnow is back home playing for the team he rooted for growing up. After his fantastic outing, Glasnow spoke on his first start at Dodger Stadium, what was working for him, and the excellent run support he received.

"It was awesome," Glasnow said about his first home start as a Dodger. "It was great. I felt good. Overall just a really awesome experience."

As for his pitches?

"I think the slider was working well today. For the most part, that was my best pitch. The curveball wasn’t that great until the end."

And finally, the run support.

"It’s great to be a starting pitcher behind a lineup like that."

The 31-year-old was lights out, allowing only two hits and one earned run with five strikeouts across six innings.

Glasnow has had a great start to his Dodger career and is making his city proud. The Dodgers traded for Glasnow in December for this reason—to pitch lights out and help bolster this rotation that needed major reinforcements. His health will be a significant factor in how great he and this Dodgers team can be.
