Carlos Beltran Joining New York Mets' Front Office

Carlos Beltran is leaving the broadcast booth with the Yankees to join the Mets' front office.

A shot at redemption.

According to The New York Post, former star center fielder Carlos Beltran is joining the Mets' front office, where he will work under GM Billy Eppler.

Per The Post, Beltran's duties with the Mets have not yet been specified.

The Mets are hiring Beltran three years after they hired and fired him as manager for his involvement in the Houston Astros' sign-stealing scandal. As The Post also reported, Mets manager Buck Showalter considered hiring Beltran as an assistant hitting coach last year.

Beltran will leave his broadcasting job with YES Network to join the Mets' front office.

Beltran played for the Mets from 2005-2011. He was traded at the 2011 trade deadline in exchange for pitching prospect Zack Wheeler. Now, he will return to Queens for the first time since being fired as manager in 2020.
