Former New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndergaard is receiving interest from teams in free agency. Robert Murray of FanSided reported that clubs are looking to buy low on the right-hander and are hoping for a bounce-back season.

Syndergaard was loved and hated during his time with the Mets. He posted good numbers during his stretch in New York, recording a sub-3.50 ERA in three full seasons between 2015 and 2019.

After playing his last game with the Mets in 2021, Syndergaard has played on four teams in two seasons. He's played for the Los Angeles Angels, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Cleveland Guardians.

The numbers continue to go down during each stop, posting a 7.16 ERA in 12 games with the Dodgers and a 5.40 ERA in six starts for the Guardians durng 2023. Syndergaard was released by Cleveland in August.

For teams interested, they're hopeful that he can return to a slight form of what he did in New York. While there hasn't been any indication of that happening, a cheap one-year deal can give him a chance to prove otherwise.

Syndergaard posted terrible advanced numbers, posting a below-average xERA, xBA, Chase%, Whiff%, K%, Barrel%, and a fastball velocity in the 22nd percentile, according to Baseball Savant. That's often a good indication that he will continue struggling in the future.

This could be the last chance Syndergaard gets from a team. At 31 years old and with arm issues in the past, teams might not continue waiting to see if he still has it.
