Mets Pitcher Bryce Montes de Oca Left Sunday's Game with Injury

Montes de Oca had been enjoying a strong camp as he looked to solidify his spot in the Mets bullpen.

The injuries keep piling up for the New York Mets.

On Sunday, right-handed pitcher Bryce Montes de Oca left the field with a trainer after surrendering three consecutive walks.

Montes de Oca, 26, debuted for the Mets in 2022 and struck out six batters in 3 1/3 innings.

In Spring Training this year, the right-hander has consistently had his fastball up in triple digits with strong horizontal run.

Originally drafted in 2018 by the Mets, Montes de Oca didn't make his professional debut after undergoing four separate surgeries post being drafted.

The Mets have already dealt with injuries in recent days from left-hander Brooks Raley who has a hamstring strain, starter Kodai Senga who has a finger issue, and José Quintana who came down with a stress fracture in his rib.
